Video of 20 men tortured by Iraqi Interior Ministry

Today it will be reported that Awf Rahoumi, deputy governor of Diyala province Iraq, has shown a video in which 20 men display wounds given to them during detainment by Iraqi Interior Ministry forces. In the videos, the men show their wounds and allege that they were:

• beaten with cables (similar to other reports of torture by the new Iraqi government here and here, and in this case here where US marines oversaw the abuse)
• hung by cuffed hands behind their back (also known as a Palestinian Hanging, which has previously been reportedly used by the Interior Ministry here and here, and was used by US forces at Abu Ghraib, best known for leading to the death of Manadel al-Jamadi, whose corpse Sabrina Harman posed with grinning and giving the thumbs up)
• given electric shocks, including on their genitals (compare references above, plus Mustafa Mohammed Ali's similar experience with the Ministry of Interior)

An Interior Ministry spokesperson questioned about the videos will be quoted as saying that there has been no evidence of abuse in Iraqi prisons, despite the fact that there has been evidence of abuse in Iraqi prisons (links above and HRW report).
