Incident: Zamar travels to Morocco, detained by US authorities

Mohammed Haydar Zammar, a Syrian-born German national, is arrested in Morocco and interrogated by Moroccan and US authorities. It is claimed that he is an al-Qaida recruiter, and recruited hijackers for the 11 September attacks. In fourteen month's time, Driss bin Lakoul will claim to have seen him at the Far' Falastin detention centre run by Syrian military intelligence (see entry 31 January 2003 or this Washington Post article).
