Media: German citizen sited by fellow detainee in Syria, claims abuse, possible torture

Driss bin Lakoul claims to have seen Mohammed Haydar Zammar, a Syrian-born naturalized German citizen, at the Far' Falastin detention centre, which is run by Syrian military intelligence. In an interview reported by the Washington Post bin Lakoul claims that other inmates were tortured, and that he was beaten on the soles of his feet (c.f. Maher Arar's claims, entry on 26 September 2002).
