Incident: Habib detained by US authorities in Pakistan

This month, Australian citizen Mamdouh Habib will be detained by US Authorities in Pakistan. When he is released and gives an interview in three years and four month's time (13 February 2005), he will claim to have been renditioned for six month's to Egypt before being sent to Guantanamo Bay. He will claim to have been tortured and abused by his captors, including:
  • a rolling drum he was forced to run on top of with electricity flowing through it while he was hung by the wrists;
  • being sodomised against his will with an unknown object;
  • a beating by approximately 15 men while being held in Pakistan (this beating allegedly occurred in the presence of an unknown Australian Government official);
  • being forced to take drugs;
  • threatened with a dog that his captors claimed was trained to rape humans (c.f. Mohammed Maleem Fidel, who claims to have been forced into sexual acts with dogs while detained by the US in Kandahar 01 June 2004).
  • being photographed and videotaped in sexually humiliating poses.
